Michael Dean Damron, a former army boxer, served in the 101st Airborne.  He was born in Oklahoma, raised in Las Vegas, and, following his military service, bounced between Los Angeles and Dallas, playing bass in Brit-pop band Table.

After leaving Tablet, Mike D. moved to Portland, Oregon. A few short years later, he began writing his own songs and decided it was time to start his own band.

A longtime fan of boxing legend John L. Sullivan, the last bare knuckles fighting champion, Mike D. named his band I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch in the House (after Sullivan's autobiography).

I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch in the House toured relentlessly and released 4 albums on the In Music We Trust label from 2001-2006: Creepy Little Noises, Put Here To Bleed, Menace, and Live At Dante's.  "A fan in Louisiana came up to me after a show and said they thought we were the country version of Rage Against the Machine," laughs Mike D.

Mike D. released his first solo record, A Perfect Day for a Funeral, in 2005.  With some of the Northwest's best players in the blues, folk, and country scene, Mike D. created a soulful, rich collection of melodic, intimate songs that give you a deep look into his psyche.
As leader of Portland-based I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch in the House, Michael Dean Damron (aka Mike D.) writes blunt no-shit statements for that band's simple punked-up alt-country. But for all his petulant punditry, Damron is at heart tender, reflective and astute. - Harp Magazine
